The Lincoln Home National Historic Site will host two days of activities marking the two hundred and sixteenth anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. On Saturday, February 15, at 12:00 p.m. rangers will lead a trivia game focusing on Lincoln and presidential history. On Saturday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m. and on Sunday, February 16, at 3:00 p.m., Lincoln Home National Historic Site will present a drama titled “A Springfield Farewell,” played by accomplished veteran actors Randy Duncan and Pam Brown. The play, focusing on Lincoln’s February 11, 1861, Farewell Address to Springfield, runs approximately 30 minutes. In the Visitor Center, the Eastern National bookstore will host book signings by Lincoln authors Marla Harms Judge and Jan Jacobi. Judge will be at the Visitor Center on Saturday, February 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to sign her book Mrs. Lincoln’s Birthday Surprise. Jacobi will be at the Visitor Center on Sunday, February 16th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to sign his new book Lincoln and Douglas, including a 30-minute presentation at 11 a.m. Throughout the weekend, Lincoln-themed crafts will be available at the Visitor Center.
