ISHS debuts on “YouTube”Illinois State Historical Society members unable to attend the recent 2009
Illinois History Symposium in Jacksonville can now go back in time for two of
the sessions, thanks to the efforts of the Illinois State Library’s “IDA”
(Illinois Digital Archives) program. Library staffers set up digital recorders
at Illinois College for two of the symposium’s luncheon speakers, Dr. Wayne
Temple, Deputy Director of the Illinois State Archives and author of nine books
about Abraham Lincoln; and Dr. Michael Burlingame, Professor of History Emeritus
at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, author and editor of numerous
books about Lincoln including Abraham Lincoln: A Life (2008 University of
Virginia Press). |
