Genealogical Researchers at the Illinois State Archives will assist patrons with genealogical research free of charge, although there is a fee for photocopying. This archives contains mainly state records of permanent value, but also has some federal and local records. Archives staff dmorse@ilsos.net can assist with state and federal censuses, military service records, WW I draft registrations, veterans' homes, death records between 1915-1947, and early Illinois land sales. Please send only one e-mail question at a time. Search below before you request help.
